items crafted in crafting stations (biolab, advanced crafting station etc) structures (platforms) do NOT count.
fastest way i found to do this is to use the auto crafter and the recycler, the auto crafter will use items in lockers around it, or dropped items. if you feed the recycler rods it will spit out the raw materials and the auto crafter will then autocraft rods, rinse and repeat until you craft 1,000 items
this is best done with multiple autocrafters and recyclers
