The method I used to complete this was to do this in multiplayer, as the more guns, the better. Have people run backwards in a circle around the outside of the map, running backwards allows you to shoot into the crowd of zombies following you. If a zombie spawns in the direction you are running, try and aim to kill that one first due to it will hurt you if you don't manage to fully dodge.
