This achievement can be gained in social or ranked. Simply hit Shift+Tab and bring up your friends list, find a Steam friend with Rocket League and invite them. (You can have up to 3 friends in your party for a total of 4.)

Play a full match with one or more friends in your party and the achievement is yours. Winning or losing does not effect this achievement.
