This is a seemingly random questline that actually leads to the main Enclave questline!

After finding that cave, you'll want to take out the deathclaws and find the door access in the cave in one of their nests. Then go in and the mission will be self explanatory from there, eventually bringing you to the clutches of the Enclave.
