Get a voodoo doll after reaching a minimum of 100 HP. Voodoo doll gives +7% vampirism at the cost of starting the next wave at 1 HP. With a decent build (pref. recovery or vamp-based, or both), you should be able to regen enough health through killing/pure survival.
