You definitely need to punch those 3 with the first punch when they are not looking at you, which the description of that achievement is pretty self explanatory.
The easy way to do this if they are together or closer at the outside. If Derek and Patrick already at the outside, just tell Frank about Patrick's hiding the booze, he will rush towards Patrick. When they start to fight, go behind Patrick and punch him first. Then, run behind Derek immediately and punch him. Finally punch Frank the last since he's the toughest.
