To upgrade your Kitchen to max level, you will need the following items:
1 stick, 2 bricks, 1 wire, 1 nails and 1 battery.
Once you've completely upgraded your kitchen, simply craft a food item.
The only real advice that can be given is to scavenge and explore as much as you can. As well, only focus on upgrading the Kitchen rather than anything else; including weapons.
