Hey guys i just got this achievement on steam and i noticed something.. a bunch of comments are saying that it's bugged but if you rescue the father first and then go and deal with the Tomas apples quest come back to the tiffmoor ruins and go along the cliff just under them the father will be there just standing looking at the sea. I talked to him again and he acts like i only just saved him but it also gives you the dialogue option to say that you found the kids even though you told him before that you didn't find them right after saving him for the first time. But this gives us a chance to tell him and get the achievement at least.
