This achievement is currently unobtainable unless you were a Kickstarter backer for this game. Hopefully one day there will be another way to earn it, like backing another Obsidian game.

If at any point there is a way to legitimately earn this achievement, let me know and I will update this solution immediately.

ValikI have discovered a very questionable method of unlocking the achievement without the need for external tools. I discovered that the game doesn't care if you own the Kickstarter backer DLC, it only cares that the correct file is in a specific location. To unlock the Cloak of the Obsidian Order in-game item and the achievement the file "tier1backer.unity3d" needs to be at "PillarsOfEternity_Data\assetbundles\prefabs\objectbundle". The file "tier2backer.unity3d" goes in the same location and unlocks the Obsidian Wurm in-game pet. I was able to... locate the GOG installers for the DLC. After extracting the files and placing them in the mentioned location, I loaded my save and to my great surprise the achievement immediately popped up and the items appeared in my character's inventory. I am very surprised it doesnt verify with Steam that I own the DLC before loading it. At any rate, if you happen to find yourself in possession of a file by the name of "setup_pillars_of_eternity_kickstarter_item_2.0.0.1.exe" and you work out how to extract its contents (it won't install without the GOG version of the base game), then placing the "tier1backer.unity3d" file where I mentioned should unlock the achievement upon loading a saved game/creating a new character.

But what does work is buying the game on Epic game store, then transferring the save file too steam
