The easiest way to unlock this achievement is to freed him, then press F2 (
on Xbox controller) to enter co-op. Next, make sure he's selected, then kill him. To drop player 2 out, pause by pressing the period key on the num pad.
NOTE: Pressing Escape didn't work for me.
