This can be a tough one to get, so keep an eye on your income. If you are getting close to the 60,000 mark but having trouble surpassing it, save your game, disband all your armies/lords/heroes for a turn, hit the achievement and reload your game. I got the achievement as the dwarves, who can pick up lots of gold mines around the map.
