PAYDAY is the third installment of DLC (second that is paid) for the base game Goat Simulator. The DLC is themed after a game of the same name, Payday and Payday 2 are both multiplayer heist titles that have been well known to crossover with other games from time to time; that time has now come for the goat. This review is going to cover just this DLC itself, if you want to know more about Goat Simulator, please check out my review of the main game.

New to the physics-challenged world of Goat Simulator is a driving mechanic; yes, that's right, you can steal and drive any car of your choosing. New as well is the ability to control four different characters individually, and three of these four characters are not actually goats; Valentino Salami the Flamingo, Dolph Spaghetti the Dolphin, Humphrey Ciabatta the Camel, and of course Don Pastrami the Ram. Each one comes with their own special ability, flying and mind control, a wheelchair that raises, lowers, and rolls up and down any wall, a spit-stream spray, and headbutting, all respectively. Of course, this is a spin-off of the typical gameplay of Payday, where you have a team of four people controlling four different characters, all of whom have different abilities that will be required to complete heists.

The map isn't overly large, but it is a good medium size; you should have no problem getting used to it and you will find your way around more quickly and easily than the other maps from Goat Simulator. However, there are only a few missions, called "pranks" in this expansion, that will require the use of more than one animal. In my playthrough, I found very little use for the Camel, and I primarily stuck to using the Dolphin and Flamingo as they made doing everything incredibly easy, too easy really, but still enjoyable nonetheless. I should also mention that there are a few mutators that do end up getting added to your base list for use in both the main game and other content once you've completed all of the pranks and achievements.

You can access the 13 included pranks via the BAAA machine. They're pretty funny, and include drilling through three vault doors to steal a grilled cheese sandwich, turning garbage into burgers and feeding them to people, and even rescuing little kitties which results in you becoming stricken with the "catified" mutator, which keeps sprouting pictures of cats onto your screen until you restart the game. Completing one of the pranks even sends you to the moon, and one will also have you framing one of the four guys from Payday as they're in the middle of robbing a bank. Every prank is repeatable, and you gain money from completing them, which you can then spend on purchasing masks that don't actually do anything.

Even though the PAYDAY DLC for Goat Simulator is rather short, the time that will be spent with it is greatly enjoyable; I cleared all of the pranks and achievements in roughly 3-4 hours. After you've done everything that is pre-designed for you to do, there's not much else other than wandering around and reeking havoc, but that can be done in any of the other DLC and also the main game. Even if you're not a fan of the Payday series, this DLC does introduce two new elements that were unavailable in any prior DLC, or the base game; non-goat playable characters with special abilities, and driving mechanics. If you enjoy Goat Simulator, you're going to love this DLC.
