4. The Gallery - Episode 2: Heart of the Emberstone Second Playthrough

If you followed this walkthrough, you should only be left with three missing achievements which we can get on a second run. Before starting, keep these issues in mind.

One achievement is for doing a speed run in less than 93 minutes (no idea why such a weird amount of time). That does not seem like much time, but I did mine in almost exactly 60 minutes and could probably have shaved off a few more if I had managed to complete some of the gear and gauntlet puzzles on the first try and had realized I could probably have skipped one transport midway through the game, so you do not have to be overly exact to beat 93 as long as you know what you are doing. Hints for doing the speed run:

Hide ads
  1. Do not stop to pick up anything you do not have to (books, cassettes, Polaroids, etc.)
  2. In most cases, the game will let you ignore the holograms. Just move onto the next step. For the ones you cannot ignore, just be ready to move when it is done.
  3. Minimize the number of times you have to go between sections (i.e., avoid load times). Always use the transport to go straight to the nearest room to your next task.
  4. Do not kill any of the wizgogs. Not only does this take unnecessary time, you want to leave all of them alive for one of the other missing achievements.

Other than that, the tasks and order are identical to the first run. Assuming you did not get it on the first playthrough, when you reach the labyrinth underneath the Ember Engine statue (after unlocking the chamber by moving the giant ball into the statue's hands), you want to remember to NOT USE YOUR FLASHLIGHT at all. This is not as bad as it sounds. If you are using blink for movement, this actually lights up the space a bit and gives you enough to see by. To get through the maze quickly, if you do not remember your path, head left when you enter and follow the path around. The first two times you have an option to go either straight forward or turn, continue straight. The third time, turn right and that will lead you to the center. The maze is not that large, so even stumbling around you should be able to get through it fairly quickly.

Once you get to the central elevator and start moving up, if you did not use the flashlight, you will unlock:

When you complete the game the second time, assuming you did not kill any wizgogs and managed it in under 93 minutes, you'll also unlock

  • PACIFIST

Finish the game without harming any Wizgogs.

    PACIFIST

and

That should be it. 27 of 27 achievements. Congratulations!
