It says my profile is private when it's not

Been happening for the last few weeks, been able to reset it , but today can't. 3000 day streak coming up in a few days. I've noticed that this tends to happen between 4-7pm UK time then rights itself. Strange

I'm having this issue right now.

I also am seeing this pretty much daily. I can assure that my Steam privacy settings are not being changed. After a few hours it seems to clear up with no changes to settings, then will come back again later.

Is the scanner throwing an error and returning an invalid response, maybe? (i.e.: claiming it's private instead of the actual error)

I have just checked and one of our scanner accounts was having some issues with the token it was using. We have redundancy built into the system which is why it was working sometimes and not others.

I have updated this token and it should solve the issue you've been seeing.

I will keep an eye on this thread, but please let me know if this is still happening.

Just happened now, waiting for it to reset hopefully. Definitely set to public

Happened on completionist.me yesterday for the first time, Maybe its a Steam thing. Gone 24 hours now without it happening on this site

This happened a few week backs if I remember correctly, I think it was fixed automatically.

Happened once, turned my profile actually private and public again, worked again for one day, and then stopped working again.

I see a lot of people have been able to scan, sadly I still can't scan due to saying private even though my steam is public, is my streak in danger?

Thanks for letting us know this is still on going. Originallu we thought it was do to an api toekn failing, but it seems as though there is more going on. As it happens intermittently it is a bit more tricky to track down, but we will trace through the scanner logic to figure it out.

it happened to me too today

I am about to push out some scanner changes that will hopefully remedy these issues

The issue was around api tokens - part of the change ensures that if we detect the token is failing we will now ensure the account being scanner is not set to private (and then swap tokens).

I will be keeping an eye on the scanners, but there may be a few other intricacies, so please ping if anything looks wrong still.
