Unlike The Story Course under Par achievements you cannot abuse the
quit round feature, as in Miniputt and Median courses the game will put you back
where you left off every time.
Not to worry though, as
you can abuse it by backing up and reloading your savegame instead. -
This is almost impossible without abusing the ability to backup and
replace your save files.
The First, and easiest
opportunity for this is on the course "Meditation" (The second course,
on the second page of Vertiginous Courses)
It's not
possible to get a hole in one on every level in this course, but you'll
be below -20 if you actively push for the lowest scores.
As
of the time of writing this there's an interesting bug that can happen
on par 5 courses if you get a hole in 2, every once in a while it can
give you fireworks and give you a hole in one. (It crashes the game
immediately after )
My personal scores for each level.
Hole 1: Hole in 1
Hole 2: Hole in 2 - (This is technically possible in 1, but i could never get the free hole.)
Hole 3: Hole in 2 - (This is impossible to get a hole in 1 on)
Hole 4: Hole in 1
Hole 5: Hole in 2 - (I ran out of fuel on this hole, it is possible to get a hole in 1 if you have enough to complete the hole)
Hole
6: Hole in 3 - (Hole in 2 is possible if you properly line yourself up
for the escalators, hole in 1 might be possible, but extremely unlikely)
Hole 7: Hole in 3 - (Hole in 2 is possible, if you have enough fuel, Hole in 1 is pretty much impossible)
Hole 8: Hole in 3 - (Hole in 2 is possible but pointlessly difficult as you need to be incredibly precise with your shots)
Hole 9: Par - (This hole is a just unfair and requires you get pretty lucky to get anything below par on)
First
thing's first, you will need to access the windows registry in order to
do this, as with all unity games. (If you don't know what this means,
or are not comfortable doing this, then it's probably not a good idea to
continue, as you can cause problems with windows if you don't know what
you're doing)
Navigate to the Folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Kinelco & Lone Elk/Vertiginous Golf
Right click on the folder and select export. (This will backup your save data)
Save the file somewhere convenient.
You have now backed up your save data. (do this after every successfully completed hole)
When
you make a mistake and want to reload your previous save, drag the
recently created .reg file you made back into the regedit window, a
message box will say that the contents have been added to the registry,
go back into the seating area and select the course you were just playing and you're back to the last hole you saved your progress for, at the
start of the last shot you saved at.
