All chapters can be done on easy mode. For chapter 3 i was buying all the upgrades before you can start the mission and i was also using either the machigunner or the medic.
Also the intel pack is a must in all missions but the survive ones.
The missions are really straight forward, keep your troops on move to avoid enemy fire, and whenever you see a vehicle shoot your rockets.
