The datalog challenge is the first one right from endless mode. In this challenge, you track a creature through about 5 semi-random levels and defeat or flee it. I got the achievement for defeating the creature, I don't know if fleeing gets the achievement.
The creature uses electric attacks, so bring an electric resist item, if you can. A robot character or companion might instead be healed by the electric attacks, so consider using them.
