Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition (PC) - Achievement - Mint Condition
Deliver the Ransom Cart undamaged in "In the Shadow of the Throne".
This achievement can be triggered near the start of the level. You start with some troops and a Ransom Cart. The Ransom Cart cannot be harmed (take any damage) in order for the achievement to trigger.
The route is important. If you head East from your starting location and follow the side of the forest South, you come to a narrow passageway in the trees. After pushing forward and defeating the first group in your way, you will be attacked from behind. This is why the route is important. The enemies specifically target the Ransom Cart and by coming to the narrow passageway, you can block their access to the cart. Once you fend off the attack from behind, continue South. You will encounter some more ranged enemies - who do not go after the Ransom Cart so relentlessly, so just make sure you keep it at the back and out of range. To go the right way, you basically draw the number '2' on the mini-map. When you come to a gated Castle, you're home free. Just get the Ransom Cart to the flag before the timer expires - And watch out for a patrol on the road that comes from the North when you get to the castle.
