As of now, this achievement takes a ton of time to get. They may update in the future to make it easier though so who knows.
I found out that upgrading the simple weapons was easier and more effective than upgrading the advanced weapons. The advanced weapons would take an insane amount of time to upgrade for little DPS. I suggest upgrading all of the simple weapons as much as you can since it is more time efficient and gives decent DPS per upgrade. Make sure to use as many catalysts for purple and yellow gems. Catalysts are pretty cheap to make and only take 5 minutes to make. Upgrade your gem workshop to the $100 trillion upgrade, and you can put 19 catalysts on purple and yellow gems. This will get purple gems down to just 30 minutes, and yellow gems down to just 3 hours.
