This achievement is missable. It is encountered 1-2 hrs into the game, after finally being able to leave the gated in area after confronting the mages who were previously blocking the gate.
The NPC Porim will eventually offer to take you to the abbey, across the lake in his boat. Agree to do so and then enter his boat, and the achievement will unlock.
