Jubilost Makes this easy. As a gnome, he's small (Child-sized) When you meet him, teach him reduce person. When he casts it, he will become tiny (cat-sized). When Jubilost reaches level 8, teach him force bombs, which try to knock down creatures. Now go looking for large (horse-sized) enemies. The zombie cyclops in chapter 4 are a good choice. Cast reduce person on Jubilost, and throw the force bombs.
