Every round in Campaign Clicker takes 24 hours. After that, your votes are tallied, you get coins based on how many votes you got (which give you a base 1000 votes each at the start of the next round) and you start over. This way, you get a bigger head start every round, until you can get more than 50% of all the votes.
It'll take you a while to get enough coins to get 50% of the votes, depending on how much you can babysit the game during those 24 hours. I had about 170-190 coins when I had enough votes to unlock this, but the next round I only had 27% of the votes.
The most efficient way to play is to just buy as much of the most expensive upgrade as possible and using only the 2-hour double votes boost (exclamation mark in the top right corner). Don't buy click upgrades, don't use the boosts from balloons. This results in opening the game a few times a day and buying upgrades + vote doubler boost, and closing it again for me.
