1. Walkthrough overview

Welcome to Tree Simulator 2022, or TS22. It's exactly as it sounds. You get a view of a tree (Or you are the tree, depending on how you look at it). The game is extremely simple.

You have the option to customize the environment in which your tree lives in. (Snow, Rain, Wind, Turbulence, Background Music, and much more) You will probably want to change some of these every now and then to change up the environment, because, for one of the achievements, you have to run the game for.... 10,000 hours.

With that being said, I'm fairly certain this is the longest idle achievement in any Steam game at this time. This process will take ~420 real life days to finish, and this is only if you're running the game 24/7.

While you're waiting 10,000 hours, you're going to want to look out on the Steam forums for this game. There is an achievement for being in a multiplayer lobby of 100 people. There's no in-game lobby browser, so everyone has to join an individual person simultaneously. Therefore, there has to be a massive public event in order for you to get this achievement. This will probably happen a couple times a year, but as the game gets older, it's possible that less people will be playing, and this achievement will be basically impossible. I will explain more about it later.

There are three tasks we will be accomplishing to complete the game.

1. We will interact with a couple settings in the game and obtain two achievements within seconds. This is the only input required for the single player portion of the game. This will take about a minute.
2. This task is done while working on the next task. We will wait for a huge public event to occur and then join it, to get into a game with 100 trees. This will gather another 6 achievements. This will take a short amount of time.
3. We will idle for 10,000 hours. This is a very long time, but it does not require you to exert any brain power. Doing this, you will obtain your last 11 achievements and complete the game.

2. General hints and tips

There's not really many tips for this game, as it's very straightforward.

There's one important thing I can recommend. Make sure that you try to get the 100 tree forest multiplayer achievement done at the earliest opportunity, as there will most likely be a limited amount of chances to ever get it. This is due to the fact that you need to recruit 100 people at a single time.

The only other thing is that there are options to customize your tree. You can make it snow, rain, etc. Every now and then, you may want to change the way your environment looks. However, this is completely optional and you can leave all settings untouched for the whole time.

Also, you will have to run the game for 10,000 real hours, which is about 420 days. You can still use the computer, but the game will always be in Fullscreen mode. There's no way to change this without manipulating game files, so keep this in mind.

3. Story walkthrough

On to completing the game!

Phase 1:

Go ahead and launch the game. Press ESC and press the option for "RED TIE". This will get you can achievement.

Red tie

Trees love red ties.

Then, drag the "Camera Speed" slider all the way to the right, and turn on Auto Rotate. you will get another achievement.

And.... That's it for phase 1!

Phase 2 & 3:

I'll leave this note at the beginning since it's important. You want to check the Steam forums for Tree Simulator every so often to see if there's a public event being planned. You CANNOT do this on your own, and you will need 99 other people willing to join the game simultaneously. Therefore, you will need to wait for there to be a public event. It should be pretty obvious if there is one on the Steam forums. It's important to take advantage of it as soon as you can, it only happens a couple times a year, and there may be a limited number of times left, as less people become interested in the game. There are no public lobbies. The only way to play multiplayer is to either join someone or have people join you.

Once you're present in a game with 99 other trees, (100 total) you'll get all of these achievements.

With that done, or while waiting for that to occur, our only goal is to idle for 10,000 hours total. This is a MASSIVE amount of time. (420 days) so get ready for a long haul. You can still use your PC while idling, but the game will always be in Fullscreen mode. There's no way to circumvent this without manipulating game files. This is probably the longest idle achievement on Steam. It's also worth mentioning that you can play the game on a different PC and your time will pick up where it left off.

First of all, there's an RNG achievement that you're guaranteed to get by the time you're done. There will be a time where some UFO's show up. When that happens, (at a random time) you will get this achievement.

The other trees will never believe you.

Review tree

Be a tree for 5 minutes, you can now review being a tree.

Now, you have longer stretches in between achievements. After 500 hours, (20.8 days) you will receive this achievement

Tree tacular

You are the tree master chief leans on.

Unstoppable tree

Some say the tree is not mightier than the storm, but the tree is the storm.

After, 2,000 hours, (83.3 days) you will receive this achievement

Legend tree

Humans speculate on your age, they try to study you but you give them splinters and they die.

Outside tree

You can now go outside and t-pose in public as a tree repeating the phrase "Tree" over and over.

Bro tree

Do you even tree bro? You have bragging rights, other trees cannot compete.
