Verdun Tunnels

By Rebecca Smith,
Welcome back to another Verdun Community Development Update. Because we are doing a lot of work behind the scenes at the moment and are actively testing the content update with the community we are going to keep this update brief. We also would like to welcome everyone who joined us during the lunar sale.

Test build
With almost universal appreciation for the test build we like to invite more people to join up and experience the awesome new content. You can sign up for the testing group here. Upon joining the test group, we issue game keys for the installation of the testing build, upon downloading you can then provide feedback within the group itself. The testing is done using a separate game build, so you can still play the current live build when testing is quiet.

Works
So what has been going on behind the scenes? Well for a starters the gore system is finally nearing completion. Next week we will do an extensive preview of what is to come in the content update. Next to that the final touches on the weapons and animations are proceeding nicely. We’ve been getting a lot of good feedback from weapon experts and community feedback on what they like and dislike. While most of the original weapon stats have been upheld the game with updated animations gets way more immersive and feels different (in a good way).

On the Champagne front
This week saw most of the mapping operations on the champagne front completed. Detailing has been carreed out. One of the refreshing elements of Champagne is the presence of several underground passages. We wanted to reflect the static nature of the fighting and the creation of several strongpoints (blanc-mont, massiges) in the region by adding also underground elements.

One of the many underground tunnels that are part of the champagne map. This one is an semi-abandoned communication tunnel to the German Rear line. One of the many underground tunnels that are part of the champagne map. This one is an semi-abandoned communication tunnel to the German Rear line.

That will be all for this week. Be sure to check in next week for more information and media about the upcoming content update. In the meanwhile sign up here.

At home, with a variety of PCs and consoles on hand from which to choose, starting with a ZX Spectrum, games are never far away there either. However, as you're not supposed to have an unhealthy obsession with just a single subject, she also likes to read and dream about owning her own tribe of minions. She'll occasionally go outside.
