Western Adventure is an endless runner game that tags itself as "arcade" and "classic". In all actuality, it should be tagged as "pointless" and "garbage", since there's very little in the way of actual gameplay. There's nothing really substantial here at all, making it a difficult title to write about. You control a character named Jenny, who automatically runs to the right, and you click your left mouse button to make her jump. The jumps are at a set height, so it doesn't matter if you do a quick click or a long one, she will jump at the same height every time.

Around 9-10 different objects, such as cacti, plants, rocks, and boxes, are placed randomly throughout the singular level; if you hit one of these objects, it's game over... even though there is no end game screen. You gain points simply by how long you last in each playthrough, but when your run ends your score is lost forever. Since this is the case, it makes the game literally pointless; no leaderboards, no ladders, no personal best, just a "last score" indicator. Aside from the clouds, the background doesn't even move at all. On the plus side, the music isn't terrible, but you won't be playing the game long enough for the soundtrack to get boring.

Another plebeian level indie game that somehow wormed its way onto Steam, Western Adventure isn't even worth the $0.54 CAD asking price on a half-off sale. Who wants to waste their time on something that is point based, but erases your highest score as soon as you reach a game over? Let's not even talk about the lack of leaderboards. An abysmal attempt at an "endless runner" at best. Unless you want one easy achievement that will take you about 10 seconds to gain, don't bother paying any price for this rubbish; in fact, it's worse than Snowman, and that game has a broken menu.

Rating: 0.5/5.0 - Abysmal, avoid it like the plague.
