What an impressive but also somewhat heavy game. Especially with the war in Ukraine going on atm this hits closer to home than it would be otherwise. In WW2 Rebuilder you'll go to different locations in England, France, and Germany to restore scenes after the war has ended. You have to clean up, destroy damaged buildings and rebuild buildings or parts of buildings. It reminds me a lot of
Train Station Renovation . Although WW2 Rebuilder has a much more serious theme and also includes flashbacks to events that could have happened during the war. I wouldn't recommend this game for kids as it is quite heavy at some moments.
The vehicles in the game are a bit buggy and were my least favorite part of the game. They can tumble over quite easily and while the game corrects itself and will turn them the correct way within seconds, it just didn't feel right how you control them. Gladly you don't use them a lot, and for most of the game, you can ignore them quite a bit if you want to.
Each level has a lot of achievements, for completing a level with 5 stars, for finding the collectibles and doing some level-specific objectives. Most of the achievements you'll unlock by going for the 5 stars in each level, and you can go back to a level and finish it later, or search for the collectibles later on.
There is one achievement at an early level to close a gap without fixing the pipes, doing it that way you won't have 5 stars. I would recommend quickly doing that first when starting the level and then going back and restarting the level. If you missed this achievement, then I would suggest first going for all the levels with 5 stars first and after getting that achievement go back to this specific level, as restarting the level erases your progress. I'm unsure if the achievements for finishing all levels with 5 stars check that through the achievements or through the current state of each level in-game. This way you're safe and don't have to do that level for a third time for all 5 stars.
I highly recommend WW2 Rebuilder if you enjoy this type of game in which you clean up areas/rebuild them. It was very nice that you can save in each level and go back where you left off, but I mostly paused between missions, this way the game had some natural moments to do something else and come later back to the game.
