From RyuVSCloud, the same developer that brought us other badly received indie games, comes Viktaram; a 3D platformer that's supposedly inspired by the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation 1 era of gaming. In the game, you control a viking, and your only control options are to move, hit, and jump. There is no story, and the title has only one level, so this will be a brief review since there is only about half an hour of content here... even less if you manage not to die.

To start things off, you're given no tutorial and no way to view the control mapping without exiting to the main menu, as well the vertical axis is inverted, and there is no way to change this feature; nor is there any way to remap the button layout. You go through the singular level, fighting enemies by killing them in one hit, collecting coins that do nothing, and finding stars that also do nothing. Through a series of platforming events, you will eventually find yourself to the first, only, and final boss of the game who has a huge amount of health points and can reck you almost instantly. The only real way to beat him is to lure him to a bridge that has a small gap in it; which, by the way, you can fall off of and die without even seeing the gap, it is that small. Afterwards, you make a small climb to a red button to end the level.

At the end of the game, what are you greeted with? Well, the title screen of course! Far be it from this steaming hunk of a turd to even reward you for completing it. I should also mention that if you die, it's all the way back to the beginning of the level, there are no checkpoints and there is no save feature. The only thing that Viktaram has going for it are its bright and lively colors. The game has a good concept, but this feels like nothing more than a game demo from a college student. At least it has good optimization.

    Rating: 1.0/5.0 - It's bad.
