I'm blown away by how beautiful this pixel art game is, how nice the music is and just how well it plays! I don't play that many city builders but this was just awesome! No missable achievements and the current achievements (just released in early access) can be unlocked in around 11h.

The following info is for the achievements that are there when it released in Early Access. I can imagine that more achievements will be added later, as well as existing achievements taking longer to complete. This is the case for achievements like "completing all the mayor requests".
Approximate time to 100%: At this moment ( 3 October 2025), around 11 hours, this will increase with more updates
    Estimated achievement difficulty: 2/10
Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1
Is there a good guide available: On Steam, you can find guides for the hidden animals and a trick for the 21,196 meters of fence achievement; otherwise, you don't really need a guide.
    Multiplayer achievements: No
    Missable achievements: No
Grinding Achievements: Yes, the achievement for 21,196 meters of fence is quite grindy, but can be done in 10 minutes on a sandbox map
    DLC-Only achievements: No
    Speedrun achievements: No
    Time-gated achievements: No
    RNG-achievements: No
Does difficulty affect achievements: No difficulty setting
    Unobtainable/glitched achievements: No
Gamepad or mouse and keyboard: Mouse and keyboard

I have not yet played Station to Station, so this is the first time I've played a game from Galaxy Grove, but I'm blown away! What a beautiful and elegant game. The pixel artwork is so well done, and even the smallest details are added. For example, there are different color flowers, and you can choose the color, but it is also possible to just select them randomly to create a more "natural" effect. And as if that wasn't enough, you can also use those flowers in different ways; you can place them on the ground, hang them on buildings, or hang them under a window. Each option shows them in a different way while using the same "item" from the building menu.

I am also very impressed with how the different people look, and how they really add to the bustling feeling of the city you're building. They walk around in the city, enjoying the view over the water, or at the flowers in a park. and the music is lovely as well, especially the tune when you upgrade your city level.

Town to City also gives you a lot of tools to check the status of your city, it splits it in the different class of people, but you can also see it when clicking on a house, or in an overview where with colors it will show where there isn't enough of something. It will reward you for using different type of buildings, so keep building the same food market stall will not do as much as having different ones. Balancing between having enough to fulfill one of the needs of the people in your city, but adding more people to the town will give a shortage of another need, was an addictive balance. I couldn't find a way to do it perfectly, but it was possible to fulfill them " good enough" so that they are happy.

Another thing I highly appreciated is that the game asks you to decorate your town and gives you a ton of options. An example is when using lights, which turn on during the evening and night, giving Town to City an extra cozy feel and they will count toward the beautiful score of your town. Sometimes a family demands a little extra, you can turn them away, but sometimes it is better to accept them because it is easy, like placing a bit more lanterns around a house, or a bit more plants is easily done. Need them close to a mountain but have already used those houses on other families? You can move those families and then add those new people to this house.

None of the achievements are missable, and most of them you'll do while building your city. I highly recommend building at least one building of every type, and 5 of each small decoration item to make sure you trigger all the mayor requests questlines. I wouldn't worry about the fence achievement until after unlocking all the others, as it is easiest done on a sandbox map, but if you wait till you done the rest, you might have already placed some meters of fences, and it is the total amount that counts.

I give Town to City 4,5 out of 5 stars. This game made me extra curious to try out Station to Station in the future.
