From Lemonsucker Games comes The Average Everyday Adventures of Samantha Browne, a free to play casual visual novel.

You play as Samantha Browne, a girl who is a really bad introvert, and almost scared of the people she lives with in her university apartment. Samantha is really hungry, and she’s waiting for the people in her hallway to go to sleep, or just disappear so that she can go make her oatmeal. Help her out, making oatmeal is a simple task, no?

This was a game that, as someone with social anxiety, I was waiting quite a while for. I kept up to date with it and downloaded it almost as soon as it came out, although I waited a little while to play it. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from it, but I found it quite fun.

First of all, this is a really well done game that accurately portrays what its like to be an introvert, and also accurately portrays things such as social anxiety really well. The developers did a lot of good work with this and it was so easy to connect with Samantha. It was easy to feel for her, and understand what she was going through.

I thought the art style, although not necessarily clean and appeasing to everyone, was really well done. It seemed homely, almost, and it was wonderful to look at. This was a definite pro, considering how long you have to play through the game to get all the achievements.

That was the only con about this game, it was one of those where you had to go through numerous story lines to get one outcome at the end, and it was honestly, much too long. Although it was nice to see all the different endings that could happen, it was rather stressful having to get there through every other story line that didn’t really need to be done.

Other than this, this is a really well done game, and I’ve played it through two or three times now. This is well done, and the developers did amazingly with it. I would definitely play this more than one more time, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good visual novel – although I would recommend making sure you have plenty of time if you are a completionist.
