Wow, I’m blown away but how much fun TOEM is. It was a game I was already pretty hyped for, but that can also mean it will be a letdown, but that wasn’t the case here. TOEM is such a sweet and cozy adventure game where you will go on a journey to make a photo of TOEM. While you travel to the mountains to make that picture, you will make stops in all kinds of places and help out the people (and other entities).

You’ll help out people in need, because their car flipped upside down, or they lost something or someone. You might even go on a very unique date! Your camera is multifunctional and will even get more functions during the game. For helping out others in the community you’ll receive stamps and those are needed to get further on your journey with the bus.

You can find a lot of small details in TOEM. For example, rain or snow on your camera lens, the bus will have different looks depending on the departing location. You’ll leave footprints behind for a second or so which you can see with your camera when quickly turn your camera to the ground on which you just stood. Even the sound of your footsteps will change depending on what kind of shoes you’re wearing. I can only imagine how many more small details were added that I didn’t notice because it was so natural.

None of the achievements are missable, which gives this game more bonus points in my book. You can enjoy the story without having to worry about them and afterward just get the achievements you missed. Not every quest can be completed at the location you got it, so you’ll have to backtrack a bit. In general, I would say to take pictures of everything that looks interesting to you, take pictures of persons who have a sparkle around them (mostly after finishing a quest for them), and equip every item you get at least once.

This game is amazing in my eyes. It is a “take pictures of things” kinda game, but it totally adds another spin to it and feels way more like an adventure game than just a game where you take pictures.
