From Michaela Laws comes Seduce Me: The Otome, an anime visual novel about a girl called Mika, who ends up in a love triangle with a bunch of incubi.

You play as Mika Anderson, a girl with two friends, and the daughter of the CEO of a toy company. One day, you get taken to live at your grandfather’s estate after he passes away. Everything seems fine, until you get there, and there are five injured men lying on the lobby floor. After a little while you find out they are incubi, male demons that feed off the sexual energy of humans to survive, but will you kick them out? Will you want them to leave?

I downloaded this purely because it was a free otome novel with some Steam achievements that I could play in my spare time. Upon playing the game the first time around, I was utterly shocked to find how quickly I fell in love with it.

Of course, it’s not that great; it’s the exact same route most of the time in just different locations, but for once, I didn’t really care about it. Each romantic interest was a well developed character that was fun to get to know, and it almost felt like they were real. Along with three female romantic interests as well, there were quite a few routes to take, and you’re able to switch it up without too much fuss, and without as much repetition. The character designs themselves, again, are pretty simple, and it’s the very generic demon design – although it was fun to see how each design changed with each demon. The soundtrack was also quite generic and didn’t have much to it, but I found the story line itself the most important and interesting thing of the game.

The story line really took us around things, and everything was explained pretty well. It was well rounded, and each story line finished off beautifully. A couple of the story lines had me in tears.

I would really recommend this to otome lovers, and I cannot wait to buy and play Seduce Me 2: The Demon War. This does a really, really good job of making players want to move onto the second game in the series, and it does its job. I would definitely recommend it.
