    Time-gated achievements: No

This game blew me away. Before I had even played it, I already thought that Pumpkin Jacklooked amazing but while playing it for the first time, I totally fell in love with everything about it and it is even better than it had looked.

I honestly believe that this is one of THE best games released in 2020 so far.

It has so much charm and humour. I even heard myself talking back to the game with the same sarcasm it was giving me. For example; the first time you set a part of the surroundings on fire your companion, a crow, asks you; "Do you know that fire burns things," and my first response irl out loud was "Noooo... really?!?" ] The dialogue has a lot of these witty moments throughout the whole game, it is so funny and a sheer joy to play.

Pumpkin Jack is a Third Person, 3D Platformer which has a total of 6 levels, the first one is really quite small but of course, as you go on, they will become a lot bigger.

Playing through the game will take you around 7 hours, while you're trying to find as many collectibles as you can. Thankfully, there is a Level Selection, as you may need to go back later on to previous levels, just to find any you may have missed, if you are looking to 100% this game but they are very doable and once somebody makes a guide it will be a piece of cake to 100% the game.

What I really found wonderful is how each level is so uniquely different. Not only are the settings different but in each level, there are mini-games where you have to leave your body and play as just the pumpkin head. The mini-games are different from one another as well. In most levels there is also a sort of phase in which you ride along on something and have to try and not get hit by the environment, this can be riding a mine-cart, riding a horse, sailing a boat... things like that. Each level ends with your traditional boss fight and those are also very varied from one other. All of these differences kept the game fresh and so much fun to play through. You just never knew what the game was going to throw at you next and that's no bad thing.

During my gameplay, I did discover a few small bugs but when I told the developer about them, they quickly picked those up and fixed them. It was very nice to see those problems getting fixed so fast and that they even took the time to respond back to me every time I had a question or I had found a bug to report, it is especially nice when you consider that this must be a very busy period, as they will be getting ready to launch this excellent game.

I played this game with a controller and had no problems with it at all. Jack can jump further than I expected in the beginning, which is very nice. I haven't tried this game with KB+M so I can't say anything about playing the game with those.

Most achievements are acquired for beating the mini-games, the rides and the bosses. The other achievements are for obtaining all the collectibles within each level. So, nothing grindy to report there.

As I stated above, I have totally fallen in love with this game, so I have no hesitation in saying that Pumpkin Jack is totally worth your time and money... Especially for having fun during Halloween or even the Christmas season.
