2 Days ago I found out I gave myself a challenge at the beginning of this year to complete 1k games on TrueSteamAchievements. I totally forgot I had set this challenge up and I have been playing mostly quality games instead of quick-to-complete games this year, which I still stand by, as I prefer to enjoy the games. There is only a very small chance I'll still be able to complete this challenge but after seeing that challenge I played a few quick completions.

Polygoneer was one of those games, and most of the rest was horrible but easy to complete... with this one I had a lot more fun than I expected. It doesn't look interesting, maybe even boring and I was afraid it would be very challenging as I'm not a hardcore gamer but it was quite doable, and what I already wrote.. fun... That was so unexpected for something that looks like this and seems so simple.

You are the canon in the middle and you have 3 buttons to fire with different colors which have to match the enemies that will come toward you. For the high scores, you have to only hit the enemies, missing a shot will reduce the points you get for the next shots as it resets the multiplayer. It has achievements for getting multipliers this way, it also has achievements for staying alive in each of the 5 levels for 60 seconds. When an enemy hits you, you are instantly dead, so this might be a challenge but after practicing a bit, it is very doable.

Polygoneer is a hyper-simple 2D score attack arcade game. It is a very “pure” experience; you control a little shooter that spins in the center of the screen, and must shoot shapes as they come in towards you. The shapes can be in one of three colors – red, blue, or green – and depending on what color they are, you have to shoot the right color of your gun to kill them.

This game reminds me of Super Hexagon in that it is a super-simple game which is mostly just about pure reflex. That being said, it is nowhere near as hard as Super Hexagon is, and you will likely complete the entire game in less than an hour. That’s not really a bad thing; the game’s core mechanics are very simple, after all, and probably would get boring over time.

Unfortunately, I didn’t really feel like the game really pushed me to my limits, though; the gameplay felt a bit bland and I wasn’t really left with a strong feeling of accomplishment upon finishing the game.

Overall, I can’t really recommend this; while it is a pure arcade experience, and isn’t BAD per se, it isn’t really very good, either. It just kind of is. I’d recommend Super Hexagon over this.
