When I play a baseball game I NEED it to do certain things. I need strikeouts and walks to be in line with real life - I need ugly fielding errors that cost games. I need everything that makes baseball - well baseball. All of that requires a certain level of patience and commitment. And that's why besides when I didn't know any better when I was a wee lad - I've only played statistical simulators like OOTP. Console baseball games for the most part are catering to segment of population who only wants to play glorified homerun derby. More power to them - I'm not here to deny them the fun they seek.
But if you desire the same which is ultimately realism - check OOTP out. Its hard for me to imagine you will be disappointed.
