From Keinart Lobre comes One Thousand Lies, a free to play, visual anime game. Released in 2016, you follow the story of Ciaran Ednyein who lives a pretty simple life. One day, he gets a mysterious email and must find out who sent it, and send him on an adventure to learn about love and life.

I was recommended this by the Steam Store and it was apparently similar to other games I had played, like Trick and Treat and Elisa: The Innkeeper Prequel. I had enjoyed both of these games and decided to get this to give it a try and see what it was like. This was not like either of the games Steam said it was.

This is purely a book. There's no play features about it. You read the text and the speech and progress through the game purely to see what happens. I was bored within minutes. There's no choices, there's nothing for the player to actually do, other than skim the text.

Eventually, I just put autoskip on to complete the game and get the achievement because I didn't even care enough about the characters to even sit and read it all through, and sat writing reviews whilst the game completed itself. Ultimately, it took 12 minutes, and the Store page says it takes 5-10 hours? I think not.

I don't think that has anything substantial to hold itself as game. I'm surprised the rating for it is so high. Luckily, the achievement is easy enough to grab so if you want to collect another completed game, maybe just grab this and skip everything for the achievement.

The achievement being easy is the only decent thing about this game.
