From developer ebi-hime and publisher Sekai Project comes Lily of the Valley, a short visual novel with a twist. At £1.99 on the Steam store, this is relatively cheap game; after seeing all the positive reviews for it, and being a fan of ebi-hime’s other works, I had to check it out.

You play as an unknown man who, shortly after his mother’s death and funeral, meets a strange girl in the middle of the Welsh countryside. Who is she?

When I say this game is short, I mean it is short; it takes under an hour to complete with all achievements, but the story itself is phenomenal.

The art work of the game is extremely pretty and I was totally taken aback by it. Simple, but sweet, it really shows that work doesn’t have to be extremely complicated in order for it to be enjoyed. The audio was really sweet, and really helped with the story line. I’m normally not that much of a large fan of visual novels, but this one looked really promising with the reviews.

    Honestly, I was shocked.

The story line in this was just absolutely spectacular. It was sweet, and innocent, but then later on, it twisted and became something totally different, but still with innocence, and I was just totally taken aback. I don’t know how ebi-hime managed to do this yet again, with another absolutely beautiful visual novel. Their work is outstanding and Lily of the Valley just made me fall in love with their work all over again. I cannot wait to try out the rest of their games, and experience all of them in their beautiful, stunning ways.

I would definitely recommend buy this off the Steam Store. It’s cheap and it’s an absolutely amazing experience and story line. I can’t praise it more.
