    DLC-Only achievements: No
    Speedrun achievements: No
    Time-gated achievements: No

This game was one of my most anticipated games in 2023. Did you see that trailer? I loved the humor that was already dripping from that trailer. And even while it is in early access, it didn't disappoint.

I Am Future is a light survival game with poppy artwork and a lot of humor. You wake up after 6 years in a hibernating pod or something like that and you have no idea where you are, why you are here, or even who you are. You're at the rooftop of a building and clearly something went wrong in the world. Thus you start your way to destroy broken items to get new resources and build stuff to survive, like a campfire to be able to cook and a workbench to even be able to make more items.

I'm very happy the game offers settings to make the survival aspect lighter and let you focus on a more exploration mode if you prefer to do so. You can turn off the setting that enemies attack your crops, and the next step further toward cozy gameplay is that being hungry will not affect your health level, this way you can ignore hunger for the most part.

As usual in this type of game what makes it fun is that you can upgrade the stuff you have. For example: first, you have to water your crops yourself, but later you can build a sprinkler but will have to bring water to the sprinkler. Or another example: First you can only break down simple items laying around, but by upgrading your tools you can destroy more and more items. This last one felt very addictive to me. I love it when you can kinda clean up in games, I wish it felt as good irl as it does in games :P.

Late in the game, you get an upgrade to be able to access all your chest through a chest instead of having to walk over to the specific one. Chests also have the ability to auto-sort, but that only focuses on that one chest. I really hope that the devs will add an option after being able to reach them all to auto-sort them all. Especially with the help you unlock later on, it can get messy and it hard to sort. I think it would just feel even more satisfying if the auto sort worked on every chest after that upgrade, or you get a second button to choose for that.

another small thing I wish the game warned you about is the amount of space in your inventory you have before doing a mission. Like for example that it will warn you if you have less than 3 inventory spaces or something like that. I hope for this because going on a mission has quite a bit of loading time, getting there and then finding out you can't even take the stuff with you sucks.

Achievement wise the game has great achievements. Most of them you unlock by just progressing through the game. Some achievements might take a while, like making 10 coffees or spending a lot of money in shops, but I expect that they will feel more in line once there is more content. However, I would highly recommend setting up the coin farm very early on so it will farm money while you explore the rest of the game.

There are 2 missable achievements, that you will most likely miss out on if you don't know they are there. There is one achievement for not eating biomass and one for not getting knocked out. Both are easier to reach when you use the most cozy setting where you can ignore hunger.

I did enjoy I Am Future a lot! I'm looking forward to the full game in the future to see where the story will take you and to clean up more spaces. Just because it is so much fun to clean up the areas in the game.
