Goosebumps: The Game is a point and click adventure that really took me back on a graceful journey through my childhood. The title revisits many of the more popular books from the franchise, such as Night of the Living Dummy and Beast from the East, and even pays further homage through the 40 available achievements.

The painted landscapes are pleasing to the eye, and there are many to view throughout the course of the game. The coupling soundtrack is also decent, though the tunes do get repetitive and boring by the end of the time that you will be spending with the game. Especially when it comes to the song that always plays when Chad (your brother) is around. The written dialogue is also exceptional, although the fact that some form of dialogue has to appear every time you transition from one scene to another can get quite annoying.

There are dozens of objects to pick-up and interact with, many puzzles to solve, and a multitude of ways to die. The good thing about death in this game is that it isn't punishing at all, and starts you right back from where you left off on. No need to reload your save, or hope that you had saved recently. Goosebumps really has a minimal frustration level, which is great for casual players or those who are not too keen on point and click titles in general.

Since the price has been reduced drastically from $21.99 CAD to $10.99, I do recommend this game for everyone around my age (28) who grew up reading Goosebumps and watching the show on TV; even if it isn't on sale. It's an excellent throwback to when times were more simple, and scares came more easily. Now, I'm going to go dive into my weathered collection from the 90's.

Rating: 4.5/5.0 - Excellent, highly worth playing.
