Age of Empires II has built in cheat codes you can use when you play a game.
Note regarding achievements: Using a cheat code during a game will void any achievement for that game.
Note regarding multiplayer: In a multiplayer game, you can choose whether the cheat codes are allowed or not. Tick the check box “Allow Cheats” when you create a multiplayer game if you want to allow them.
To use a cheat code, tap “Enter” to open the chat, type in the cheat code and tap “Enter” again.

lumberjack → 10,000 wood
cheese steak jimmy's → 10,000 food
robin hood → 10,000 gold
rock on → 10,000 stone
ninjaconnor → 100,000 of every resource
ninjalui → 100,000 of every resource

Instant win / lose / destroy:
i r winner → Win the game
resign → Lose the game
wimpywimpywimpy → Destroy yourself (and lose the game)
black death → Destroy all opponents (and win the game)
torpedo# → Destroy player # (replace # by the number of the player [1-8])
Map:
marco → Reveal the map (can be toggled on/off)
polo → Remove the fog of war (can be toggled on/off)
Various:
aegis → Instant building, training, researching and resource gathering (except farms) (can be toggled on/off)
natural wonders → Control nature (irreversible)
woof woof → Turn hawks into flying dogs
Taunts:
!mute → Mute taunts
!nomute → Unmute taunts
