Clarification on Ubisoft Achievements

  • Posted on 25 September 25 at 04:43
    Hello,

I recently switched to playing on Steam full time as opposed to playing on my Xbox. In the process, I repurchased a bunch of Ubisoft games that I loved playing on my Xbox.

With that said, I’m aware that most of those games such as the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Ghost Recon, etc, franchises support cross-platform progression, which means my achievements should theoretically transfer over to Steam since my Xbox account was also connected to my Ubisoft Connect Account.

So, I guess my question is, what are the rules on earning those achievements? I haven’t done it yet, but I’m assuming the timestamps will all be the same for those achievements, which will make it look like I cheated to other players if they view my profile. So, I don’t know if I should play those games again on Steam or not because I don’t want to get accused of using SAM…

    Requires 3rd-Party Account: Ubisoft Account.

This game features cross-platform save imports, which can be used to unlock achievements already earned on a different platform.
You can find that in the game information. Basically, you can transfer your achievement and nothing is gonna happen. It is always better if you have a way to show that you completed it on another console, it is gonna give you protection in case something happen for whatever reason.

I have checked your trueachievements account, or at least someone with the same name, and noticed you are set on GS track only. Some people could think that you are a cheater in that case if they see that.

Yeah, unfortunately when I was much younger I used a system to unlock achievements on a number of Xbox 360 games on my Xbox account. As soon as I made my TrueAchievements account back in 2020 it was immediately flagged and set to GS tracking only due to earning online achievements offline, and the cheated games were removed from my account. I haven’t since cheated in any sorta of way.

That’s another reason I honestly switched to Steam, which was to get a clean slate. So, do you think I should play the games or not? Like I said, I don’t want to get accused of cheating.

At this point, if you want a complete clean slate, i would say play the game from scratch and don't transfer your old save or dont play them at all to completly turn the page from the past.

But if i was in your place, i would start over the game i really like, like Assassins-Creed-Origins and don't bother with the other one that i dont like them.

Unfortunetly, there will always be at least 1 guy that will accuse you as a cheater no matter what you do, like you finish a game faster than him or you are simply better than him.

I appreciate the advice! I don’t plan on replaying them anytime soon. But do you know if it gives you the option to start a new save or does it automatically import the save directly without asking you?

I just want to make sure before I actually press play on Steam, because if it might pop all of the achievements automatically, I wouldn’t want that to happen unless I knew for sure…

I have done some testing on Assassins-Creed-Origins, when you launch the game the first time, it is gonna ask to connect to an Ubisoft account.

You can create a new account to be 100% sure, but when i connected my Ubisoft account which is linked on xbox, i didn't get any achievements or any save. It seem you have to link Ubisoft with Steam to be able to import save which i dont know how.
