Cross Platform non resetable games

Not sure where to post this. So I once had Gamepass and played Forza Motorsport and unlocked most of the achievements there. For Fathers Day my daughter bought me Forza Motorsport for Steam. After searching the internet it appears the game uses cloud saves and there is no way to reset progress. I am afraid to play it now on my steam account because it will likely pop a mass of achievements in a short period and make it look like I cheated.

Is there something I can do? Am I going to have to try and refund the gift to keep my account here safe?

So I found this note on some other games like Destiny 2, Warframe, etc:

"This game features cross-platform save imports, which can be used to unlock achievements already earned on a different platform."

I am hoping you can add it to Forza Motorsport as well. I will go ahead and play it and if there is a problem I hope you will work with me.
