Game developers manually unlocking achievements?

One of the games I'm currently playing on Steam has some impossible achievements. Some of the game community members have suggested that I can reach out to the game developers and they can auto-pop the bugged achievements for my account if I give proof of meeting the unlock criteria.
Is this even a possible thing for them to do? Wouldn't I still get flagged here and on other tracker sites for having an impossible achievement? I've tried Googling instances of people getting their achievements unlocked by developers but I can't find any results. To me it seems a little too close to just using SAM to auto-pop. I really am not interested in doing so if it will still bring a flag.

I don't think devs have the ability to unlock achievements on people's accounts. Unfortunately, buggy achievements are a blight on all of us and there's not much we can do without the devs fixing the games on their end.

Definitely make sure those particular achievements are properly flagged though.
