The easiest unit for this imho are the Varghulfs from the Vampires.
If you attack an enemy city with a wall, choose to play the battle yourself. Use the tactics you normally use but use two Varghulfs on the gate. These bats are really big and strong and can easily knock down a gate. When the gate is destroyed, you'll get the achievement.
