Sniper Elite 4

Sniper Elite 4 has 85 total achievements. This walkthrough includes all core game achievements, as well as the four paid DLC missions: Target Führer, Deathstorm Part 1: Inception, Deathstorm Part 2: Infiltration, and Deathstorm Part 3: Obliteration.

Before you begin the grind, here and a few tips that should make the process a little easier:

While most achievements will be easy to net, 3 difficulty based achievements will present the only real challenge you’ll encounter. Completing the game on authentic can be tough, but authentic plus without the use of manual saves is brutal. It can be a rage-inducing experience, but with patience and a little luck, it can be done.

Outside of authentic plus, the majority of achievements will unlock through natural game progression. The DLC includes a few tricky challenges, but nothing remotely close to the difficulty based achievements.

Upgrading a rifle, secondary weapon, and pistol is required for two achievements. It’s recommended that you work on these upgrades whenever possible, but don't stress if you're not making much progress. Weapon related achievements can be finished while playing Survival. You can access the requirements for any weapon via the loadout screen.

Be sure to interact with every NPC before launching the mission. These characters will provide you with information regarding secondary objectives that you’ll need for 4 separate achievements. Follow the objective icons on the map, and be sure to check all secondary objectives to ensure they're being completed before ending a mission.

The Silent Warfare Pack includes the Delisle Carbine. Unlike other rifles, the Delisle doesn’t require suppressed ammo. This will make the process of grinding achievements much faster, as you needn’t worry about searching for suppressed ammunition. It's Paid DLC, but it's entirely optional; any rifle will do.

Note: This walkthrough couldn't have been done without the help of other gamers gracious enough to provide supplemental video. Be sure to give them a like as a token of appreciation!

Target Fuhrer achievements consist of killing Hitler in a variety of ways. Most are self-explanatory, but a video guide is included for most methods. It's recommended that you drop the difficulty to cadet and run to the point where you enter the facility. From here, make a save for future use.

Complete all secondary objectives and escape undetected to unlock:

The last achievement should be the challenges, 3 of which should already be complete. The last two require you to melee assassinate Hitler and cap him with Eternal Struggle. The Eternal Struggle weapon can be found in the armory; check the video below for specifics. Completing the challenges will unlock:

The majority of these achievements can be done in one playthrough on cadet difficulty. Stay undetected (do not have "cover blown") and complete all secondary objectives. Be sure to melee kill all snipers throughout the mission.

You will be prompted to take out Major Volker Grun (optional objective). Loot his corpse and take his body to the end of the ship and throw it out to sea. This should unlock:

  Inception - Dump Major Volker Grün's body into the water from the end of a boat

  
  

There is a main objective that requires you to destroy the net. Launch the torpedo without having your cover blown to unlock:

• Karl Shot First

  Inception - Get to the destroyer and launch the torpedo without being spotted

  
  

You will eventually encounter a tank travelling in the northeast portion of the map. The route remains static, so drop the cargo hanging from the crane on the tank to unlock:

Two officers hold keys to the train door; a main mission objective. Rather than blow the train door, collect these keys from the officers and open the train to unlock:

• Save Keys to Open Doors

Finish the mission to unlock:

• Shore Leave

  Inception - Complete the mission

  
  

• Knife to a Gun Fight

  Inception - Melee takedown all the snipers

  
  

The last achievement is the challenges. Completing "Getting the drop on them" will require you to dispatch 3 Nazi's with crane drops. Doing this will unlock:

• On Yer Head, Son

  Kill enemies with 3 different environmental drop kills

  
  

The other challenges include:

1. Snow Blind: Do not tag anyone, or anything, with binoculars
2. Surprise, You're Dead: Kill 10 enemies using traps
3. Perfect Payback: Kill a sniper by shooting through his scope. Be sure kill-cam is on when attempting this challenge.
4. Cool Runnings: Complete the mission in under 15 minutes. To do this, ignore all enemies and secondary objectives and complete the main objectives as fast as possible. I suggest stocking medkits in your loadout for tough situations.

Completing this last challenge will unlock:

• All Inclusive

All achievements can be done in one playthrough sans challenges. Again, play on cadet difficulty and remain undetected.

You'll encounter an officer preparing to burn books (location in video below). Give him an eye shot to unlock:

• Read This!

An island sits off in the distance with a number of explosive barrels. Light them up to unlock:

• Fish-in-a-Barrel

You'll need to perform a multi-kill in the auditorium. Do this to unlock:

You'll need to call and eliminate the Valkyrie Squad with the Neunfaust. Wait for the reinforcements to arrive and then kill them all. Please note that a few stragglers follow behind the vehicles. Pick them off without exiting through the gate. This will unlock:

Completing the mission undetected will net you:

The challenges for this mission include:

1. Man in the High Tower: Kill 20 enemies from towers with flags
2. A Touch of Glass: Kill 3 enemies with dropped chandeliers (Can be combined with Shhh!)
3. Shhh!: Ghost-kill 5 enemies in the library (Can be combined with A Touch of Glass)
4. Don't Stop Breathing: Complete the mission without using Empty Lung
5. Boom! Headshot!: Kill all Valkyrie Squad members with a headshot in under 12 minutes

The last one is tricky, but follow the below video to get it done.

Doing so will unlock:

The last mission will require multiple playthroughs. First, we're going to kill them all. Be sure to murder every sniper with explosives. Once the reactor has been sabotaged, additional enemies will greet you outside (including a few additional snipers).

The scientists you are asked to extract must be killed! The game will automatically incapacitate them when attempting to kill them with melee strikes. If this happens, reload or restart. Complete the story killing everyone (including military vehicles and pantherturms) as well as the 3 Nazi's that are fairly well hidden. You can find them using the video below.

Completing this mission with no survivors and all snipers dead to explosives will unlock:

• Storm Chaser

We'll cheese through the next playthrough, which should net most of the remaining achievements. It's best to avoid killing anyone, really. The reason is a challenge that requires you to complete the game using only suppressed ammo (Welrod does not count), and a Nazi family we'll spare for an achievement. If you need to kill anyone, make sure it isn't a Reiner and it's with a rifle equipped with suppressed ammo! You can check names by fully tagging the enemy; their identity is located at the bottom. Conversely, you can extract the 3 scientists in another playthrough.

Continue the mission and ensure that all 3 scientists have been extracted. It's tough with limited ammo, but doable. Once the reactor has been sabotaged, exit the bunker without firing a round and run like hell to the exit. Video below for visual reference.

Once complete, you will unlock:

• I Love Science

  Obliteration - Extract Wernicke, Hänel, and Kehrer in one playthrough

Ah, yes; the challenges... Hopefully you already completed Subsonic, which requires you to finish the mission with only suppressed ammunition. The others include:

Anatomy for Snipers: Land an organ shot every 2 minutes. It's actually not too bad and can be combined with "Did you Hear That?". Headshots do not count, although the brain is technically an organ, but I digress. Go for the lungs, heart, and liver. Just pay close attention to the timer on the challenge page.

Did you Hear That?: Get 40 ghost kills (Can be combined with Anatomy for Snipers)

Field Studies: Kill Nazis with 10 different weapons. You start with three, so just pick up and kill enemies with 7 different weapons. This challenge can also be combined with Research Assistant.

Research Assistant: Recover all research papers in under ten minutes. Just John Rambo this challenge. Combine it with Field Studies for maximum efficiency.

Once completed, you'll unlock:

• Atomic

  Obliteration - Complete all the Challenges

  
  

At this point, you should have unlocked a number of rank achievements throughout the course of your playthrough. These include:

The only survival related achievement is completing all 12 waves. Survival is also a great way to finish any combat related achievement you've yet to unlock. Drop the difficulty to cadet and finish each wave to unlock:

Sniper Elite 4 has 2 multiplayer achievements that require very little effort. The first is playing a match in each game type. These include:

1. Team Deathmatch
2. Deathmatch
3. Team Distance King
4. Distance King
5. No Cross

Jump into one of each of the above matches to unlock:

The last achievements are all difficulty based and remain as the toughest achievements in the game. Here, you must complete the game on authentic plus without manual saves. WhyattThrash via True Achievements has a terrific walkthrough with corresponding videos for those struggling to get this done. Per Whyatt:

"The achievement is for clearing Authentic plus difficulty (realistic difficulty with no checkpoints) without any manual saves. Which means; you die, you restart the level.

This is very hard, and you'll need to learn the game mechanics inside out before attempting this. It becomes easier by playing co-op, which will give you "extra lives" by allowing your partner to revive you.

This guide focuses on getting the achievement solo, but the tips are valid for co-op as well.

Differences from Authentic to Authentic Plus:
- No HUD elements.
- Any remaining bullets in clips when reloading are lost
- Enemies will NOT let off once aggroed. The lowest status they will go back to is to keep searching for you, they will never completely de-aggro
- Enemies will fetch backup from nearby parts of the map. This can be used to your advantage if you can camp down in a secure spot and just let the enemies keep coming to you
- While there seems to be a limit to how far off enemies will run for reinforcements, there does NOT seem to be a limit for how far they will keep searching for you. If you make an enemy suspicious at the beginning of the level, they can end up getting you from the back at the very end.

Spotting enemies
Take advantage of your camera. Press up against walls and corners and use the camera to peek around. Sometimes the best way to spot enemies is just to keep the camera completely still and scan for any movement.

Audio cues
There are audio cues for most of the in-game actions, some examples:

- Enemies changing status (passive, searching, in combat etc) always have a spoken voice line
- Enemies spotting you has a sound effect
- When nearby enemies are in combat, there's specific battle music
- Before throwing grenades, enemies will shout about "granate"
- Before shooting rockets they'll mention "panzer"
- There's a special "boom" sound effect for when you kill the final nearby aggroed enemy
- Picking up items has specific sounds for each item (healing items sounds like a zipper, ammo sounds like clinks etc)

Solo specific mechanics
- While holding your breath you'll no longer have any of the on-screen tips, but you still enter slow-motion like in other difficulties. This can be abused to let you get your bearings on the current situation and react/take aim before the enemy can.

Co-op specific mechanics
- Your co-op partner mate can revive you when you go down. So stick together and make sure that you always have eachothers backs.
- If your partner can't revive you (and you're not the lobby host), you can quit out and then rejoin the lobby. This can only be done a couple of times before the level auto-fails, but it can be used in a dire situation.

Recommended equipment
- The rifle and smg you feel most comfortable with
- The Welrod (since you won't need to carry supressed pistol ammo)
- Supressed sniper ammo
- Healing items
- A trap (at least for most levels)

General tips
When camping, always always make sure to booby trap any alternate entrance to your camp site

You will need to learn to snipe reliably, taking into account gravity, wind, gun differences and differences in suppressed/regular ammo.

Go for the regular authentic achievement first as practice. Go through the levels a couple of times, aiming for a path that doesn't get you killed. You can practice difficult shots or sections by reloading checkpoints until you get them down.

Disregard all optional objectives, just focus on the main ones needed to complete the level.

You will die a lot going for this achievement. While it is hard, it's not unfair. Seeing it as a fun challenge rather than ticking off an achievement is a must not to get frustrated. Being slightly reckless in the beginning, to learn the auth+ mechanics and finding an optimal safe path to the first few objectives will probably save a lot of time in the long run."
