Raiders of the Broken Planet Hades Betrayal Available Now

By Rebecca Smith,
Raiders of the Broken Planet was released to mixed reception. At the time, developer MercurySteam promised that the game was a living platform that would look very different months after its release. They've tried to stick to that promise by releasing more story campaigns and significant game updates. This week saw the arrival of the third of those premium campaigns, "Hades Betrayal", as well as an overhaul of the progression and reward system.

The premium campaign includes four new story missions and a new character, privateer Ayana Kwena. The Raiders will take on the Hades Division, the "most powerful military organization in the galaxy". If they're to be successful, the Raiders must persuade Ayana to defect from the Hades Division to the Raiders and to help them stop the Division's leader, General Krausher, from using a doomsday weapon to gain power. All of the missions can be played in single player, four-player co-op or in the 4v1 Antagonist mode.

The DLC is accompanied by a "major overhaul" of the game's progression and reward systems that includes the addition of new game features. Players can now rank up and unlock new rewards. The Antagonist role has also been redesigned so that they receive similar rewards to the Raiders, including Experience, Gold, Faction Points and Weapon Blueprints. Finally, the new Forge system allows players to customise their weapons.

The new DLC also adds four achievements, all of which are secret (you can reveal the details of the secret achievements at this link). You can find guides to unlocking these achievements as soon as we have them on the Raiders of the Broken Planet Achievements page. In the meantime, you can see the new content and update in action in the trailer below.

"Hades Betrayal" is available now and is included as part of the game's Ultimate Edition. Alternatively, the content can be purchased standalone for US$9.99/£9.99/€9.99.
