Heroes Expansion Announced for Trove

By Rebecca Smith,
Support for free to play MMORPG Trove has shown no sign of dwindling since the game's release in December 2016. Even now, developer Trion Worlds still has plans for the title in the form of a brand new expansion that will be arriving fairly soon. "Trove – Heroes" promises to let players live out their superhero fantasies by providing a new playground and a new class for players to try out.

The existing Neon City biome will be expanded to include Luminopolis, a new section filled with towering futuristic high-tech skyscrapers. It's currently the battleground for a war of power between the evil robotic Amperium and a rebel group trying to thwart their ambitions, the Resistors. As well as defeating all of the Mega World Bosses that will invade the section, you'll have new adventures and a range of new NPCs to meet.

The new Expert Class is the Vanguardian, inspired by "the classic silver age of comic heroes". This class is effective in close quarters skirmishes and ranged attacks, so will be able to take on all of the enemies that the Amperion will throw at them.

Finally, there will also be a new beacon system that shines bright lights into the sky as a call to arms for heroes. However, they don't just summon heroes, they summon enemies too. If you're the winner in these challenges, you'll be rewarded with loot for your troubles.

Players will have to wait until spring to get their hands on the "Trove – Heroes" expansion.
