At the beginning of the year, I said I won't buy any games except for Black Friday if there was something amazing. The rule has already been broken, bought 2 games last month. Nothing spectacular or expensive: Titan Quest on Xbox One was $7 and Age of Decadence on Steam was $3. I blame it on The Urge, which is what I'm going to call my condition (not a real condition). Real blame is on me, I have poor discipline. Sales don't help. Knowing how I am, I should just avoid looking, but I fail at that too! I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll be buying Death Stranding for the PS4 and Anthem for the Xbox One at some point this year when they go on sale and maybe I can hold out until Black Friday. Currently there is a sale for a game called A Way Out that on Xbox One I want to buy to play with the bf. The rule is bending, but I know that I'm limiting myself for sure. No more out of control spending and creating a backlog so intense that I waste my time and money, no more achievement whoring to the point where I see something cheap and easy and I buy it....less so anyway. There are too many platforms and too much time to sink into all the achievements I want to get (all of them). I have enough, finish what I got and then go from there.

My ambition to clean my backlog and current games keeps driving me, the fail rate is somewhat on par with my success. That's my opinion. It is slow going for sure because I work so much less now and it should be easy. There is more adjusting to it than I thought needed. I have a boyfriend that I'm stupid in love with and have never felt this way about anyone blah, blah, blah, mushy, mushy, mushy poopy poop. So that's new and I'm spending time with him instead of achieve whoring. I don't like to just game and leave him in the corner by himself waiting to have some time with me. He is a gamer so he likes to get his game time in too and that's where I'll take my chance IF I'm not having to cook, clean, run errands, and be a good housekeeper. My time management needs an overhaul...actually, some sort of time management plan needs to be created. I don't have anything in place.

With that being said, my focus is on the games on my cards - Steam, Xbox, PlayStation. Across those three, I have 198 games on my collective cards. I want to close them out. To address that, I want to finish 3 games to every game I put on my cards and ideally buy. By finish, I mean achieve all that I can achieve. At some point, when things get under control I probably will revamp that to finishing 3 games to every game I play even if it were just for the story because not all my games have achievements, but are still worth playing! Yeah, my backlog reaches my PlayStation 1 days. Although some games have been ported to another platform and achievements exist for them, it isn't the case for all. Strictly sticking to achievements would limit me and then dictate that I have to work at gaming instead of enjoying it. Not to say getting achievements isn't fun at times, but I'm reevaluating some things. So if I can limit the game buying and get my focus on closing out these games, it should be a pretty good balance. It may be time to give up on boosting. Interactions with people are not what it used to be.

My active games:

Halo 3 (360)
Happy Dungeons (XB1)
7 Days to Die (XB1)

Possibly work on:

Typing of the Dead (Steam)
Shadow of the Colossus (PS3)
Burnout Revenge (360)
Refunct (XB1)
Saints Row (360)

If I complete Happy Dungeons, 7 Days to Die, and Refunct achievements and get some progress in Saints Row I'll be able to hit 59% and when that's done I'm gonna maintain! I have to figure out how to maintain and rise in completion percentage even while I start new games.

Update 03.11.2019
I bought 3 games. I’m starting to think that maybe the limitations I impose on myself is fucking everything up. I’m too worried about the numbers when the numbers should be fun. The games should be fun.

I played the Steam game immediately. Decided fuck it and just tried it and ended up liking it a lot. Got all the achievements too! Thats it, I’m going to say I don’t care about the percentage. I will work on it, but I gotta play the games I buy.
