The Aaru is one of the four Afterlife locations in the DLC, visited in the main story. There's a little over ten locations here, so it compares fairly well with a normal region in the "real world".

A man named Het is worried about his wife, who still hasn't met him here in the afterlife. Head to the Lodge of Names and find out that the wife's real name wasn't used; you'll have to perform the ritual her husband was doing yourself. Run on over to the Royal Bakery to the north and pick up four pieces of bread by smashing jars, then look around to the east of the area for incense. To perform the ritual, head to the Palace of the Lady of Grace and follow the light that comes out of it. It's going to be a long chase, but it'll eventually flow into an Anubis priest. Kill it to release the light and free his wife.
Location: Brewers' Landing
Location: To the south.
Objectives: Loot Treasure (x2)
Ships occasionally pass by here, so try to raid this place when they're not around. When you attack the priests here, go for the one with a staff first; he can resurrect his fallen allies.
Location: Dock of the Eclipse
Location: To the east, the upper of the two locations there.
Objectives: Loot Treasure (x2)
Ships occasionally pass by here, so try to raid this place when they're not around. This place is also one of the best to get the Pyromaniac achievement. Just set the dock on fire and don't approach it yourself until everyone there dies by fire.
Location: Foundation Offering
Location: To the west.
Objectives: Loot Treasure
Just drop down the hole in the ground and you'll be able to get an essentially free treasure.
Location: Gate of Aaru
Location: At the entrance to Aaru.
Objectives: Read the Stelae
Just read the stelae hidden in a broken-down wooden structure.
Location: House of Libations
Location: To the south.
Objectives: Read the Stelae
You'll be coming here for the main story, so use that opportunity to read the stelae in one of the buildings here.
Location: House of the Threshed Grain
Location: To the east, the lower of the two locations there.
Objectives: Loot Treasure (x2)
This little set of buildings is completely unguarded. You'll be able to get the treasures with ease.
Location: Leaning Statue
Location: To the north, not far from the center.
Objectives: Read the Stelae
Stand at the base of the statue to find a small cave with the stelae inside.
Location: Lodge of Names
Location: To the northeast.
Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure
You'll come here if you want to do the quest Love or Duty. There are a handful of priests here, so coming here for the quest would save yourself some time if you're planning to do both.
Location: Nefertiti's Spring
Location: To the southeast.
Objectives: Read the Stelae
The stelae is at the spring that you have to visit for the story.
Location: Nut's Gift
Location: In the large crater to the northeast.
Objectives: Loot Treasure
Several Anubis priests are protecting this place. The treasure should be on the ship docked here, but you'll want to pick up the one inside one of the tents as well.
Location: Palace of the Lady of Grace
Location: In the middle of Aaru.
Objectives: Kill Captain, Kill Commander, Loot Treasure (x2)
This large palace isn't too bad to wipe out if you're at a good level. The work is well worth it, as you'll earn more than 2000XP for clearing the place.
Location: Royal Bakery
Location: To the north, at the border.
Objectives: Loot Treasure (x3)
You'll come here if you want to do the quest Love or Duty. There are lots of Anubis priests here. You'd best be ready for a fight, because you probably won't be able to get to all the treasures (and bread) without getting in one.
Location: Serqet's Altar
Location: To the southwest.
Objectives: Kill Animal
This is one of the locations you need to complete for the Sting in the Tale achievement. Two very high-leveled scorpions protect this altar, and you'll probably have a bad time fighting them regardless of your strategy, even at Lv55. You should consider killing the scorpion that isn't considered the alpha so that if/when you die, you'll only have to face the alpha when you respawn.
Location: Tower of the Deathless Feathers
Location: At the viewpoint.
Objectives: Loot Treasure
There's nothing here but the treasure and a scorpion. If you haven't fought one before, it shouldn't be too challenging since it's just a one-on-one fight.
