So I'm currently waiting for a scan as Cosinus is having their first run and Rawex before them. I guess I'm used to the speed of TA but Rawex's first run took 3169 which is over 51 minutes, its not even that big of a tag to scan.

Some tweaks needing to be made?

The scanners will not be as efficient as the TA scanners - they need to grab the recently played/owned data then do individual requests for *every* game on that list. That will make first runs particularly bad, Rawex's scan they had to do over 1050 individual queries. After the initial scan using the Web API won't be that bad but to get timestamps they have to use the older, slower, XML API. Overall though as long as people get scanned once every 2 weeks it'll be fine.

That said, the scanners will improve a lot. Doomful is on it and if they hit a roadblock they can hit me up.

Tweaking I thought but not redoing or improving. Still those times cant stay with full release, normal scans taking 15minutes isn't good

As it stands I see easy room for 20 fold improvement in times based on how long a single scan for 1 new game with 1 new achievement took.

As I've mentioned elsewhere the scanners are quite slow at the moment, but this is really the first time we've pumped lots of users through them and there are still some quirks to work out. That's why we're having a beta though. wink

Scanners are more than 50% faster now... still a ways to go but getting there.

If I can ask, what XML method is being used?
