How to unlock the Mission Accomplished achievement

  As simple (and as difficult) as picking the Wilky May starmap (the only one intially available to you) and getting from one side of it to the other successfully.
  It doesn't matter what condition your ship or crew are in when you reach the starbase so long as you have at least 1 Hull and your captain has 1 remaining HP.
  
  You'll also get the following achievement for the first time you complete this starmap:-

  The What a Mouthful achievement in Orion Trail worth 10 pointsComplete the Wilky May Starmap
